VANCOUVER, British Columbia — Jim Powers is featured in a new interview with Porn Corporation.
During the interview, Powers traces his unlikely path from Southern California punk rocker and former stockbroker to becoming one of the most prolific directors in the adult industry over the past three decades.
Powers shares the wild logistics of ever-escalating bukkake scenes, the constant vice raids of the 1990s and early 2000s, the Bush-era obscenity crackdowns, and how 9/11 ultimately shifted federal priorities away from the industry.
"I never planned on being a porn director," Powers says in the interview. “What happened was the guy who was supposed to direct the movie took acid and was on the ground staring at his cigarette ash, so I had to take over. I was the only one with any experience."
