LOS ANGELES — Vixen Media Group studio imprint Deeper has released the first installment of the Kayden Kross-helmed fantasy feature “Equilibrium.”
The five-part release stars Jewel Diamant, Serenity Cox, Jessi Rae, Jason Luv, Kenna James, Violet Myers, Rissa May, Seth Gamble, Chocolate Rod, Prince Yahshua, Parker Ambrose, Hollywood Cash, Goldey, Alex Jones, Little Puck, and reigning and three-time XMAs Male Performer of the Year Vince Karter.
“Drawing on ancient myth and feminine archetypes, ‘Equilibrium’ moves between two worlds, an ordered surface of duty and appearances and an underworld of the psyche where desire takes physical form,” said a rep. “The story centers on sisters Jewel, Jessi, and Serenity and philosopher Jason, who takes what he wants from each of them — never giving his best.
“After he seduces the youngest, his student Jewel, her father demands restitution, and Jason is forced to marry the eldest, Jessi,” the rep added. “He then betrays her for five years, until she sees the fire that has been consuming her home. Exiled to a convent, she is drawn out of her longing by nuns Kenna and Little, who teach her the difference between obedience and truth. Presiding over the underworld is Serenity, a gold-dusted goddess who asks the men who seek her for the one thing few will give — their best.”
Kross enthused about the project.
“It’s not about holding yourself back to meet someone else’s expectations, and it’s not about giving too freely,” she said. “It’s about giving honestly where someone else is giving honestly back. ‘Equilibrium’ is something sustaining, where one can’t overcome the other. It’s the cosmic dance.”
Diamant also expressed her excitement.
“Kayden Kross holds a level of creative vision and respect within the industry that very few people do,” she said. “She is so deeply intelligent, and that’s reflected through her projects. Before we filmed, she took the time to meet with me and go through the script and go into greater detail of the concept, and hearing her knowledge and thoughts and observations around this film was pretty damn impressive. It is always an honor to work with her.”
Added Luv, “This was unlike anything I’ve shot. Kayden builds an entire world around you and hands you a character with real depth to play. Getting to work at this level — with a cast and crew this good — is exactly why I do this.”
