LOS ANGELES — Marica Hase is featured in a new interview article in the Japanese magazine Weekly Spa.
In the interview, Hase discusses her journey in the industry from Japan to Los Angeles, her breast cancer battle, and the work ethic that has carried her through both.
“I wanted to do autograph sessions, but I couldn’t, so I bought DVDs with my own money and negotiated directly with shops,” Hase said. “I put flyers in tissues and handed them out; I did it all on my own. Even after being diagnosed with cancer and being told I needed a total mastectomy, my first thought wasn’t the fear of death, but ‘What about my work?’ Reconstructive surgery was the obvious thing to do.”
