LAS VEGAS — Sex Work Mutual Aid Collective (SWAID) partnered with Pornhub to raise over $4,500 and distribute harm reduction supplies to the Las Vegas sex worker community at their April clothing swap.
During the event, SWAID distributed over 200 condoms, provided 50 doses of Plan B, supplied 25 NARCAN nasal sprays, and exchanged hundreds of pieces of clothing.
SWAID raised $2,040 in charitable donations through events like their raffle and silent auctions, with an additional $2,500 pledged by platinum sponsor Pornhub for their microgrant program, which provides financial aid to struggling sex workers. Pornhub also contributed complimentary clothing and exclusive raffle and auction items.
"Shout out to all of the sponsors and to everyone who volunteered, donated, and gave their time to make this event happen," said SWAID organizer Kaiia Eve. "There was a lot of time and coordination that went into this one, and I am so proud of what we all accomplished. See y’all in the fall."
Added organizer Dahlia Von Knight, "I had so much fun coordinating this swap with the rest of the team. We had such a great turnout, and I can’t wait to plan the fall one."
Alex Kekesi, Pornhub's VP of Brand and Community, enthused about the joint effort.
"A huge congrats to our friends at SWAID on a successful fundraiser and clothing swap," she said. "Events like these are not easy to organize, and it’s amazing to see the real impact they have on people’s lives. Pornhub’s commitment to the adult industry extends to ensuring sex workers are supported. We are so grateful to have participated in this great initiative."
