LOS ANGELES — Dr. Lori Beth Bisbey is sharing fresh insight into the changing sexual landscape for adults over 50, pointing to a growing openness around the discussion of pleasure, menopause, and later-life intimacy.
“[There are more] women advocating for their pleasure and for the hormonal help they need to be able to enjoy their sexuality,” said Dr. Bisbey, who noted more people “talking about sexual alternatives like non-monogamy and kink without shame.”
She also noted the rise in STIs in adults over 65 — indicating more sexual activity, and specifically, casual sex.
“I am consulted more by over 60s than I was 10 years ago, many of whom are embracing their desires for the first time openly and seeking partners to share them with.”
