LONDON — A new UK awards show known as The Velvet Awards will launch in October, featuring an independent jury panel voting alongside the public in a transparent 40/60 weighted system.
The Velvet Awards jury will be comprised of up to 15 members selected for seniority, experience, and breadth of service across the UK adult industry. Jury members will vote based on the following criteria: Quality, Impact, Innovation, and Professionalism. While public voting will hold more weight than the jury, the Industry Champion Award will be solely up to the jury each year.
The Velvet Awards is being produced by Velvet Compass Consulting, Paul Botha's London-based boutique consultancy specializing in the adult industry.
This year's ceremony will be held Oct. 14 at Elektrowerkz in London. Nominations are now open through Sept. 30.
