LOS ANGELES — Cherie DeVille is featured in a new article published by 404 Media about the expanding age-verification laws in the United States.
The article, titled “Half of the US Now Requires You to Upload Your ID or Scan Your Face to Watch Porn,” discusses DeVille's role in Pornhub’s statewide homepage blocks and presents her perspective on the issue writ large. Among other remarks, she said that mandatory ID checks “put children and your privacy at risk.”
“Every time another state adopts these laws, it pushes adults toward unsafe websites, jeopardizes privacy and does nothing to meaningfully protect minors,” DeVille said later in a statement. “I’m grateful 404 Media is covering the real consequences, because this impacts everyone who cares about digital safety and free expression. I’ll keep speaking up until lawmakers pursue solutions that truly work.”
