LOS ANGELES — Suzannah Weiss is the latest guest on the "In Bed With Kate" podcast, where she unveils her new book, "Eve's Blessing."
The book is "a powerful examination of how ancient stories have shaped modern views on women’s pain, pleasure, and sexuality," said a rep.
On the podcast, Weiss and Kate discuss "how cultural narratives — from the story of Eve to patriarchal medical myths — have normalized everything from period pain and childbirth suffering to painful sex and shame around female pleasure."
Says Weiss, "I grew up being taught that pain was part of being female — period pain, PMS, painful first-time sex, even orgasmless sex. I was so angry about it that I wrote Eve’s Blessing to spotlight women who have reclaimed comfort, pleasure, and ecstasy after their bodies were dismissed or misunderstood. If you believe your body was destined to suffer, this book shows that Eve and her descendants were meant for something else: pleasure, joy, and liberation."
