HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Gender X Films has released its latest feature, "Transpirella," a parody of the 1970s sci-fi horror comic book "Vampirella," directed by Jim Powers.
The title stars Reigning XMAs Trans Performer of the Year Ariel Demure, Jade Venus, Gal Ritchie, Haven Rose, Avery Lust, Andylynn Payne, Joel Someone, Gracie Jane, Kasey Kei, and Dom Cruise.
"'Transpirella' follows survivor Transpirella (Demure) from the drought-plagued planet Tranculon," the synopsis reveals. "She teams up with renowned vampire hunter Dr. Van Helsing (Someone) as well as his trans offspring (Jane) and sidekick (Kei) to take down Dracula (Cruise), who plans to turn all of humanity into a vampire army."
Powers enthused about the project.
"When Gender X said I could do a feature this year, I knew this was it," he said. "It was one of my favorite comics and still is. Ariel was perfect in the role of a sexy kick-ass superhero. Once I cast her, all the other cast members just fell into place. Filming this was a dream come true, and I can’t wait for everyone to see it."
Two of the five scenes are now available on GenderXFilms, and the full feature will be released on DVD and VOD later this month.
