LAS VEGAS — Amber Chase has published a book under her legal name, Lillian Amber Rachel Getchell, titled "Dementia: You Don’t Know Unless You Know."
The book draws from her CNA training, her background with yoga and fitness, and the experience of caring for her father.
"Chase's book captures dementia in all its complexity — its relentless unpredictability, its impact on relationships, and the small, sacred moments of grace that shine through even in the hardest hours," said a rep. "This title lifts the curtain on the reality of dementia care, offering both practical guidance and unflinching truth for families, caregivers, and professionals alike."
Chase elaborated on the book.
“People think dementia is just forgetting," she said. "They don’t see the midnight falls, the infections that come out of nowhere, the toll it takes on a marriage, or the way it rewires the caregiver’s nervous system. Silence is part of the problem, and this book is my refusal to let misunderstanding have the last word.”
"Dementia: You Don’t Know Unless You Know" is available from Amazon.
