LOS ANGELES — Cherie DeVille calls out flawed age verification laws in a new interview with Where Is the Buzz.
Titled "Cherie DeVille Says Age Verification Laws Don’t Protect Kids, They Just Reward Criminals," the article "warns of the dangers that AV laws pose to the very performers they claim to protect," said a rep.
"What will likely happen is that this will punish actors and companies who follow the laws," said DeVille. "Anytime you push prohibition, you create a black market. Bad actors will emerge, often based overseas where the West lacks jurisdiction, and these groups will ignore the law.
"You already see this in U.S. states with age verification laws," she added. "Pornhub follows the law, and XVideos doesn’t. These laws don’t stop minors from viewing porn; they just harm the legal porn world and reward criminals."
