TOKYO — Pleasure brand Tenga has responded to new Google Search data revealing the U.S. states whose residents most frequently type "sex toys" into the search engine.
According to the Intimacy Index, Mississippi led the rankings, followed by West Virginia, Wyoming, and Alaska.
"Indeed, the South emerged as a key region in these search trends, with Louisiana, Alabama, Arkansas, and Tennessee ranking among the top states," said a Tenga rep. "Meanwhile, search activity in North Dakota, Oklahoma, Kansas, Kentucky, and Maine suggested that interest in male and female sex toys extended across diverse regions of the country. The differences across U.S. states in search interest suggest that attitudes towards pleasure products are shaped by a mix of cultural, social, and regional influences."
Rika Adachi, global marketing manager at Tenga, offered additional insights.
“We are seeing a clear shift in attitudes towards sexual wellness products with greater acceptance and a more positive attitude, which has ultimately fueled the demand for pleasure items," said Adachi.
