LAS VEGAS — Nina Nova organized a gathering of adult workers at The Slutty Poolhouse in Las Vegas on June 21 to remember Larissa Garcia, a local sex worker who died one year prior.
According to a rep, Garcia's client that day, Jason Kendall, admitted to choking Garcia for 10 minutes before having sex with her and then leaving her body behind. Kendall was initially found unfit to stand trial, but now, after he received treatment, a trial will commence on September 22. The rep also said that local sex worker advocates are urging members of the adult industry to pack the court and display their commitment to justice.
“This matters," said Nova at the gathering. "It matters that we care and that we show up. And that’s all I can ever ask. That we just care even when it hurts. We’re gonna be there in September.”
