MONTREAL — Coco Lovelock stars with Dick Chibbles in the latest thriller from Pure Taboo, titled “Father’s Day.”
Written and directed by multi-XMAs winner Seth Gamble, the scene opens with Jasmine (Lovelock) boycotting the birthday party of her stepfather (Chibbles).
“When Jasmine’s stepfather unexpectedly shows up during her ‘Jasmine Live’ livestream in clown makeup, the encounter takes a shocking turn — one that eventually leads them to a disturbing and intimate understanding,” the synopsis reveals.
Gamble enthused about the scene.
“‘Father’s Day’ is easily one of the most disturbing and emotionally charged scripts I’ve ever written and directed for Pure Taboo,” he said. “I’m incredibly proud of the performances from Coco Lovelock and Dick Chibbles; they committed to the tension and discomfort in a way that elevates the entire piece.
“I’m thankful to Bree Mills and Adult Time for giving me the creative freedom to take risks and fully explore this kind of psychological darkness,” Gamble added. “I’m also deeply grateful to my crew, who brought focus, precision, and unwavering support to such a heavy and nuanced shoot.
