BEND, Ore. — Lisa Lawless, the founder and CEO of Holistic Wellness, has written an essay about her new battle with endometrial cancer.
In "What Facing Cancer and the Reminder of Death Brought Up for Me," she opens up about her diagnosis, as well as "the emotional weight of mortality and the love that continues to guide her through it all," a rep said.
Lawless has also launched a GoFundMe campaign for those who'd like to support her.
In the piece's opening lines, Lawless writes:
"When I found out I had endometrial cancer, I didn’t expect the first thing to come up would be this deep need to talk about death. Not in a heavy or hopeless way, but in an honest and human one. As a psychologist and now a cancer patient, I’ve seen how powerful it can be to name what we’re going through. And what I’ve learned is that when we stop pretending, we start living more fully."
