PARIS — Mika Ayden's first independent production "French Friends: La Vie Est Belle" won the award for Best Group Scene at the 2025 Grabbys Europe.
Directed by Macho Jim, who won the 2025 Grabby Award for Best Director, the feature was shot handheld with smartphones, designed to look like a real vacation movie, and the dialogue was mostly improvised.
"We wanted to create something original, blending our personal lives with fiction,” said Ayden. “We aimed to deliver a film based on our authentic friendship and the fantasies of our audience. We knew we wanted a story of friendship, a vacation among friends, love, and sex."
