Disruptive to Debut 'Saltburn-Like' Feature 'Honeyguide'

MONTREAL — Disruptive Films will release the first scene of its mystery drama feature “Honeyguide” on Friday.

Described as similar to streaming hit “Saltburn,” “Honeyguide” debuts with a scene titled “Manipulation > Masturbation,” which introduces audiences to the complicated dynamics between Alaric Spence (Hoss Kado) and Brooks Dunham (Kam Stone).

In “Manipulation > Masturbation,” the synopsis reveals, "Alaric knows that Brooks will do whatever it takes to make the grade. That’s why it comes as no surprise when Brooks has a rendezvous with his professor, Dr. Alan Whittake (Bruce Jones). But things aren’t as cut and dry as they seem — not when Alaric is at the helm."

Stone noted that shooting “Honeyguide” was very different for him than any other movie he has worked on.

“The experience with the crew, really getting to know you and helping you understand the role you’re there to fulfill, brought us all closer together by the end of it,” he said. “I learned so many new things and pointers while being on set and filming this movie; it was by far the most amazing experience I’ve had on set.”

Jones concurred, saying, "When movies are given the type of production value like ‘Honeyguide,’ it is amazing to see a porn set turn into a real Hollywood production. Seeing all the people needed to make it a success was quite a spectacle, like watching bees all working together on a common goal. Everyone had their role and each doing their part to make some sweet, sweet honey."

Writer Taylor Saracen said he wanted to “really pump up the scenes that had everyone talking in ‘Saltburn’ and make them even more shocking.”
