LONDON — Countess Diamond appeared at a European Sex Workers’ Rights Alliance (ESWA) conference, in Brussels, where she delivered a speech on Dec. 6.
The conference was organized to shed light on the harms sex workers face and to help consumers understand the online sex work they experience. Diamond’s speech, titled "Data Violence Against Online Workers: Revenge Porn and Institutionalized Stigma," was "a thought-provoking and enlightening address for the attendees both there physically and watching via a Live Stream,” said a rep. “Particularly when Countess drew on her own experiences as a sex worker, having had her content stolen and reproduced, banking services terminated, being held and questioned at borders, being personally subjected to doxxing and more.”
Josie West, who assisted Diamond in the delivery of the speech, elaborated.
“Sex worker-owned platforms, in-built with fair, ethical practices, will lead to de-stigmatisation and increasing power within this marginalised labor sector,” she said.
