Grooby to Executive Produce Trans-Led Horror Film 'The Girls'

LOS ANGELES — Grooby will executive produce a new trans-led mainstream horror film, titled "The Girls."

Directed by Krista Michaels, the film will star trans actor Ryder Avalon.

"There weren't many trans-led films, in general, much less horror films that we could draw inspiration from, nor characters to aspire to," explained Michaels. "With that in mind, I collaborated with an all-trans-woman writing team, including Brandy Bryant and Jessica D'Amelio, to develop a compelling script."

"The Girls" will be co-produced by Blair Hawkins and Claudia Charriez, and scored by BAFTA-nominated composer Simon Boswell of The Crying Game fame.

"Moving forward, we aim to assemble a talented team of women for the crew to fulfill our dream of delivering an unforgettable movie experience," Michaels added.

The project recently launched an IndieGoGo campaign.
