LOS ANGELES — Dan Benson, who gained fame as a supporting actor on the Disney Channel comedy series “Wizards of Waverly Place,” commemorated his first year as an OnlyFans adult creator with a candid TikTok post highlighting his fans’ acceptance of sex work.
From 2007-2012, Benson played Zeke Beakerman, co-lead David Henrie’s best friend, on the Selena Gomez star-making vehicle “Wizards of Waverly Place.” Last year he pivoted to adult content creation.
On Monday, Benson told his TikTok followers, via a “mental health check-in” post, that he has been doing adult entertainment for about a year now — and that the response has surprised him.
“I expected a lot more hate,” Benson said. “Instead, people have just been like, ‘Go you!’ empowerment.”
He added that he feels good and “kind of like a badass, a little bit,” for his career pivot.
Benson shared that, although some people have asked him to do things that he doesn’t feel comfortable doing, he has learned to navigate that aspect of his new role.
“I’ve kind of just been in a position to be like, ‘No. You’re gonna get what you’re gonna get. You’re gonna get what I feel comfortable sharing with the world,’” Benson explained. “Which now is quite a bit. I’m feeling good, I’m excited about the future, and I don’t really feel bad about my decisions at all.”
Earlier this year, Benson discussed how, after nude pictures of him were leaked, he eventually “decided to stop fighting against it and instead go the other direction and completely lean into it,” which led to him starting an OnlyFans.
“Instead of letting these people sell my privacy,” he asserted, “I decided to say, ‘Screw you, I’m going to sell it myself!’”
