Former Adult Performer Becomes Conservative Mayor in Spain

CARCELEN, Spain — A retired adult performer who ran as a candidate for the conservative Partido Popular (PP) has unseated the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE) incumbent and will become the mayor of the small town of Carcelen, in the Albacete province of the Castile-La Mancha region.

Last month, Antonio Moreno — who performed as Héctor de Silva in several gay titles for MenAtPlay and Men.com between 2015 and 2018 — defeated his progressive PSOE rival, María Dolores Gómez Piqueras, by 12 votes in the municipality of around 450 inhabitants, which she had led for over a decade.

The 38-year-old has over 50 IAFD credits, including “Hung Country,” “2 Wet,” “Spanish Connexxxion” and “Star Wars: A Gay XXX Parody.”

According to press reports, Moreno lives with his partner and, before his entry into local politics, worked as a firefighter and livestock farmer.

Speaking about his past as a porn actor, Moreno told Spanish outlet Sur, “It is a stage in my life that I don’t regret because I learned a lot.”

Moreno also said that he had never had problems in town because of his sexual orientation or his former career, stating that he actually garnered more criticism for his alignment with Partido Popular.

The PP has over the years platformed several figures associated with the extreme-right Francisco Franco dictatorship, which ruled Spain from the 1930s until the 1970s.

Moreno said one of his priorities is lowering property taxes to encourage wealthier people to settle in the area.
