Culture News Site 'Them' Publishes Guide on Finding Queer Porn Online

LOS ANGELES — LGBTQ+ culture news site Them today published a guide to finding quality queer porn online.

Penned by porn historian and commentator Noelle Perdue, who can currently be seen in the Netflix documentary “Money Shot: The Story of Pornhub,” the article lists several sites and performers that she describes as “people making the gayest, most incredible porn I’ve ever seen.”

“As a queer person who used to work in porn (and now works by talking and writing a lot about it), there’s a conversation I often have with people who are in the queer community but outside of the adult industry,” Perdue notes. “I mention my career, and they try to relate by saying something along the lines of, ‘it’s too bad there’s no good queer porn,’ or, ‘ugh, I hate that lesbian porn is made for straight men.’”

Perdue, however, finds “no lack of good queer porn” out there. As examples, the article heralds the work of Crash Pad, currently helmed by Ava LaPrima; Nikki Hearts’ Gender Flux; the experimental Aorta Films; Shine Louise Houston and Jiz Lee’s PinkLabel.TV; and queer creators Vanniall, Carnegie Velvet and Xenon Universe.

Perdue also stresses some “primary rules of engagement” for ethically enjoying queer porn. She encourages readers to pay for their porn, engage with creators and care about sex workers.

The article recommends “familiarizing yourself with great queer porn creators, and engaging with sex work beyond the clips you watch to get off” as well as looking up production companies and following or subscribing to performers on social media and fan platforms. Doing so, Perdue concludes, can help “open up entire networks and archives of like-minded artists.”
