LOS ANGELES — XBIZ is pleased to announce that performer, director, writer and producer Casey Calvert will deliver a keynote address at the 2023 XBIZ LA conference, set for Jan. 9-12.
North America’s largest adult industry conference will once again bring together top stars, indie creators, digital media pros, company execs and newcomer entrepreneurs for boundless business opportunities — and for a comprehensive look at the future of adult entertainment.
Calvert, a multi-XBIZ-Award-nominated performer, writer and director, has ushered in “Netflix-style” narrative productions as an exclusive contract director for Lust Cinema.
“Casey’s work has been giving an essential boost to Erika Lust's mission to shape a change in the industry by providing opportunities and bigger budgets to female directors in the U.S. and making the most out of the cinematic possibilities of porn,” enthused a Lust Cinema rep.
Active as a performer since arriving from her native Florida a decade ago, Calvert continues juggling roles in front of and behind the camera, as both an innovative auteur and a in-demand star of gonzo, kink and custom titles.
“It's an incredible honor to be giving a keynote speech at XBIZ LA,” Calvert told XBIZ this week. “So much has changed in the business in the 10 years since I started, and so I'm excited to discuss the past, present and future with my peers at the industry insider's premier event.”
During the 2023 awards season, Calvert — who is up for Director of the Year — is being recognized for recent outstanding work like the supernatural fable “Sorrow Bay” and her theater-based dramedy feature, “Going Up,” an ambitious ensemble effort featuring a star-studded cast led by Seth Gamble, Victoria Voxxx and Charlotte Sartre.
