LOS ANGELES — Maitland Ward’s new memoir, “Rated X: How Porn Liberated Me From Hollywood,” was officially released today.
Ward will be appearing this evening in Los Angeles, at the Barnes & Noble store at The Grove, to present “Rated X” and autograph copies following a Q&A with friend and director Kayden Kross, head of adult studio Deeper.
Ward, a Deeper exclusive contract star, provides “a sex-positive, behind-the-scenes look at both Hollywood and the adult entertainment industry,” a rep noted.
“Maitland models and performs exclusively with Vixen Media Group and has been the face of Deeper.com for three years running. Her collaborations with the leader in adult entertainment — on projects such as ‘Drive,’ ‘Muse’ and ‘Mistress Maitland’ — have resulted in award after award and have been recognized by industry players as some of the most dynamic films the industry has seen to date,” the rep continued.
“From sitcom secrets on mainstream sets to passionately public sex scenes with Vixen Media Group, Maitland reveals exclusive details about her transcendent career and road to triple-X stardom in this sharp, provocative tale,” the rep added.
Ward was featured today in several mainstream news outlets, including CNN. The author also penned an opinion piece/excerpt connected to the book release for the Daily Beast.
“I’m so proud that my book is being so well received by the mainstream media, not only for myself but for the porn industry as a whole,” Ward told XBIZ. “Porn and its performers often get negative attention and this really is a day to celebrate everyone in the industry.”
Kross, who will be moderating Ward’s book release event this evening, declared herself “beyond proud of Maitland’s success as both an actress and now a published author.
