BARCELONA — Erika Lust will release her new XConfessions short film “Twerk” on Thursday, starring Anastasia Brokelyn and Tommy Cabrio.
“Twerk” co-stars dancers Ana Chinchilla, Sara Suárez (aka Agave Babe), Inés-Sybille Vooduness and Mar Jiggle.it in nonsex roles.
A rep described “Twerk” as “an ode to all women's butts and female anal sex.”
The group of women in the short “reclaim their bodies as territory for their own pleasure, with their own freedom to explore and enjoy it,” the rep continued. "A regular rehearsal day becomes an explosion of pelvic liberation, booty-shaking and energetic dance. As the music penetrates further into their bones, we enter the imagination of one of the dancers (Brokelyn) as she lets go of all taboos and opens herself up to the pleasure of female anal sex.”
Lust said she wanted to explore the pleasure women feel with anal sex beyond the limitations and taboos of heteronormativity.
“Women dancing and bouncing their booties doesn't mean they are asking to be touched,” the rep explained, adding that “Twerk” celebrates “twerking as self-enjoyment, as it taps the benefits of a natural pelvis movement that has become hypersexualized by the objectifying male gaze.”
Lust noted, “I always love finding stories where dance and sex come together, and in this film we went a bit further. I experienced the dance myself in a previous workshop with Anchi and my team. This made the magic for me to let the story flow as freely as my pelvis felt before shooting. I learned so much about the process and what it really means to connect with the body in order to truly enjoy pleasure.”
