LOS ANGELES — Alpha Studio Group has launched all-male studio label Next Door Films with a focus on realistic storytelling and high production value.
The new label joins the Next Door Studios network, which includes Next Door Originals and Next Door Raw, among others.
“We are super excited to welcome the world to this new side of Next Door Studios,” director Walden Woods said. “By taking the excitement and creativity we have on our regular sets, and adding a high level of cinematic quality and superior storytelling, we were able to deliver a whole new brand that I really think everyone will love. Focusing on the character development and the stories the models are exploring really helped to open up this new content into something very special.”
CCO Jeremy Babcock noted how Next Door members "have always loved story content, and this is our chance to take it to the next level."
"Longer stories, more developed characters, advanced cinematography and unique locations all come together to make Next Door Films a brand we’re really proud to share with everyone," he added.
Director Conrad Parker explained that the project's goal has been to "take the same great content we have and make it even better."
"Specifically, we worked very hard to further develop the characters in our new films. Our talent has been challenged in each film to really understand their characters and did an amazing job at bringing them to life," he said. "These films are meant to be more than just a campy porn scene. Think of them as a relatable movie mixed with porn. This, combined with high-quality cinematic storytelling, will be sure to set Next Door Films apart from anything else you've seen before. You won't want to miss out on this new brand.”
The label's inaugural release is the comedy-drama "Weekend Getaway" starring exclusives Nico Coopa, Elliot Finn and Trevor Harris.
The scenario follows follows Coopa and Harris as they visit Finn at his new house out in the country.
"When Elliot reveals to Nico that he wants to sleep with Trevor, Nico decides to have some fun on his own and see if he can seduce Trevor himself, and the two enter a battle to steal Trevor’s heart," noted the rep. "Little do they know, Trevor is playing a game of his own."
Scriptwriter Dalton King enthused about the creative process with the new label.
"I’ve really wanted to push the envelope of storytelling in gay porn, and being given the green light to write longer stories with more authentic emotions feels like the best opportunity to do so," he said.
"Weekend Getaway" premieres Saturday on NextDoorStudios.com.
