LOS ANGELES — Alison Rey is the featured guest on the latest episode of “Dick Tales."
Rey opens up about her recent marriage, overcoming social anxiety and her upcoming cosmetic surgery. She also reflects on dating as a porn star, how #MeToo changed the adult industry and the explosion of the OnlyFans platform.
“This podcast was different because [host] Carrie was so open to talking about the reality of being an adult performer. Too often, this industry is glamorized and people are only interested in the fun side of things,” Rey said. “It’s so important to have nuanced conversations when it comes to this industry, because just like anything in life, it’s not black-and-white: it’s not all good, and it’s not all bad, but every part deserves to be talked about so that people can better understand our business as a whole.”
Rey compared Carrie’s show to other podcasts to highlight why she enjoyed “Dick Tales” so much.
“For too long, platforms like podcasts have held narrow, one-sided views of the industry and our conversation went in a very different direction than I was expecting,” Rey continued. “She was very real with me and allowed me to talk openly about the struggles I have had in my career, the things I’m worried about for the future and the things I would like to see changed about our society that would help our industry.”
