Love Not War Wins 2022 Gold iF Design Award

Love Not War Wins 2022 Gold iF Design Award

LONDON — British sustainable sex toy manufacturer Love Not War has won the 2022 Gold iF Design Award for outstanding design achievement.

The Love Not War range is made from FDA-grade silicone and recycled aluminum and includes an interchangeable battery base that is compatible with the brand’s detachable heads, allowing users to have multiple toys in one, and reducing the need for multiple lithium-ion batteries.

"Being recognized at all is a huge achievement, but to win gold is a great honor," said co-founder and chief designer Rob Scott. "We are amongst some incredible companies that we at Love Not War take huge inspiration from. At Love Not War, we have created something that we’re exceptionally proud of. Myself and my co-founder Will [Ranscombe] both worked in the industry for several years and we knew that the potential to create toys that were not only eco-conscious but were also extremely popular with our customers was definitely there, we just needed to work hard to bring our vision to life.

"A big part of our product design is the detachable heads feature which enables our consumers to use just one rechargeable battery base with all of our interchangeable vibrator heads. This allows them to have multiple products in one," he noted. "This is a game-changer for the sex toy industry and is also something that has proven to be a success with consumers, too. Sex toys are difficult to repair if they break and if you want a new sensation you typically have to purchase a whole new toy, which means a whole new battery, too. We’ve solved both of these problems, which is a real win for the planet and winning an iF Design award for our innovation backs this up. We also know that a true mark of success is to be acknowledged by one's industry peers, so we want to say thank you to the iF Design Award team for recognizing all of our hard work and dedication to our craft."

Ranscombe added, “We’re absolutely delighted to receive this iF Design Award. When Love Not War was co-founded, we set out to make our products as sustainable as possible, so winning this award, a week before Earth Day nonetheless, is a great testament to our efforts and designs.

"We are really proud of the entire Love Not War range, so it’s exciting to be recognized this way. Since we first launched in 2021, we have witnessed reviewers, influencers, the media and our customers rave about our products and their capabilities," Ranscombe continued. "We also have some more products and exciting things planned for Love Not War, and with the confidence of the iF Design judging panel, we can't wait to hear feedback from customers and reviewers."

The iF Design Awards have been running in their current form since 1953 with more than 11,000 entries every year from design professionals, companies and organizations.
