Dorcel Releases Anna Polina's Directorial Debut 'Second Chance'

PARIS — Dorcel has released "Second Chance," the directorial debut of XBIZ award-winning performer Anna Polina, starring Carollina Cherry and Cléa Gaultier.

"In her first major role for Dorcel, Carollina portrays Alexandra, a thirtysomething businesswoman who appears to have it all — a nice career, loyal friends, a physique that turns heads and a wonderful fiancé with whom she owns a thriving real estate company," a rep said.

"One morning, her fiancé Gabriel (Ricky Mancini), leaves their business and their relationship with no advance warning, throwing away the five years they spent together," continued the rep. "After this unexpected breakup, Alexandra crosses paths with Laura (Gaultier), a pretty yoga teacher who lives her life by a simple mandate: We are all deserving of pleasure. Laura introduces Alexandra to her group of friends and invites her to move into her apartment. Under Laura's tutelage, Alexandra is reborn emotionally, intellectually and sexually into a world that is fun, ethical, empowering and 100% shame-free."

The cast also includes Michael Cherito, JPX, Ania Kinski, Clara Mia, David Perry, Axel Reed and Polina herself in a key nonsex role.

"For her very first directing job for Dorcel, Anna delivered a touching story that is very close to reality," noted the rep. "She presents the life of a young woman in her thirties for whom a breakup is not fatal and who has only one desire — to give her own happiness a second chance."

Daniel Metcalf, U.S.-based publicist for the studio, said the feature "really was a dream project for Anna."

"While the specifics of the story may not be autobiographical, Anna drew from some lived experiences and aspects of life in both Russia and Europe, and this approach created a sense of reality and intimacy that can be felt onscreen," Metcalf continued. "As a filmmaker, Anna's style is very original and extremely inclusive. The cinematography and camera work, the storyline, the diverse body types, the authentic sex — Anna celebrates people celebrating themselves."
