LOS ANGELES — GoAskAlex is the subject of a new profile by New York Post journalist Jane Ridley about being an adult performer with an ostomy in an article titled “Top OnlyFans Model: ‘My Disability Makes Me Sexier Than Ever.”
The performer reflected on having her large bowel removed in July 2019 after years of ulcerative colitis. “I wasn’t sure whether there was going to be a market for my body anymore,” she shared.
Ridley highlighted Alex’s impact on adult entertainment.
“Her OnlyFans account is going gangbusters — the redhead is among the top 1% of earners on the online sharing platform — and she has inspired sex workers with other disabilities,” the journalist wrote.
“The model believes the ostomy makes her 'more relatable’ and ‘challenges the idea of what’s considered conventionally attractive,’” Ridley continued. “It helps 'normalize disabled qualities in pornography.'"
Alex, the 2021 XBIZ "Cam Model of the Year," also highlighted the creation of her "Disabled Sex Workers Calendar" that displays glamorous pictures of herself and other models.
She added, “People who are unconventional [looking] are rarely represented in a way that isn’t fetishized or tokenized by the sex industry... we’re working towards different body shapes, races and disabilities being the norm.”
