Trans Pop Star Alissah to Perform at 2022 TEAs

LOS ANGELES — Trans recording artist Alissah will perform at the 2022 Trans Erotica Awards (TEAs) this spring.

Alissah as an activist, recording artist and aspiring fashion designer based out of Atlanta and has appeared on MTV's "Teen Wolf," VH1's "Love & Hip Hop Atlanta" and the Tyler Perry film "Good Deeds" as well as the acclaimed indie film "If I Should Die Before I Wake." She is working with producer Ryan Snow on her solo music debut.

"Alissah's activism began when she was denied entry into a club for being trans," a rep said. "She has since worked with her best friend, singer and actress Kat Graham, along with the GLAAD, to bring awareness to this issue. She attends many GLAAD functions and continues to do charity work and raise money for various organizations, specifically Atlanta-based nonprofit Lost-n-Found Youth."

In 2016, Alissah was presented with the "GA Voice Best Transgender Activist" award.

TEAs Executive Producer Kristel Penn noted the performer has "such a great presence on stage; we’re honored to have her as our special musical guest for our first in-person show in two years."

"Without giving away too much, I will say that our guests are in for a really special treat featuring an electric performance that includes our Mistress of Ceremonies, Domino Presley," Penn said.

Alissah added, "I’m so excited to be back performing again this year. My first experience at the TEAs was beyond amazing, so this year I’m planning on doing a bigger performance and giving a bigger show."

The TEAs will return to an in-person event at the Avalon in Hollywood on Sunday, March 13, with an official pre-party Friday, March 11; follow the awards online and on Twitter.
