Dakota Johnson Opens Up About Her Sex Toy Line With Maude

LOS ANGELES — “Fifty Shades of Grey” actor Dakota Johnson, who also serves as an investor and co-creative director of sexual wellness brand Maude, recently spoke to Elle U.K. about the company's products for an upcoming February 2022 cover story.

Johnson explained to writer Molly Creeden that her goal is for people to have access to quality sexual wellness products.

"When the founder, Éva Goicochea, and I met, I [realized], 'This is exactly how I think about this,' which is to say that products should be inclusive and straightforward, clean and approachable. If you love having a giant pink dildo, all power to you,” Johnson said.

“That’s not my vibe!’ she quipped.

The magazine reported that Johnson herself is involved in the development process of all pleasure products branded with her name.

“We were looking at the [prototypes], and one was too big,” she revealed, and related to the magazine a recent dream involving butt plugs, which looked like two decorative gourds together. "I was like, ‘No one’s going to be able to fit that in their butt.'"

Celebrity news sites have remarked that Johnson is currently involved with Coldplay singer Chris Martin, whose ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow has also become notable — and notorious — for selling pleasure products through her lifestyle brand Goop.
