BaDoinkVR Announces Limited-Time Free Release of 'Kokeshi Cybrothel' With Angie Lynx

BARCELONA — BaDoinkVR and Berlin-based companion doll creator Kokeshi Cybrothel Berlin have announced their collab, “Kokeshi Cybrothel" starring Finnish performer Angie Lynx, is available to download for free until Jan. 9.

The vignette showcases "the realism of Cybrothel Berlin’s Kokeshi doll, pioneering VFX techniques and a never-before-seen VR narrative," a rep said.

Shot in October in Barcelona, the action "puts the viewer in a futuristic cyberpunk world in which fantasies turn into reality," added the rep. "This scene takes a step away from VR tropes and encourages the viewer’s desire to shift between a humanoid sex worker and the beautiful Angie."

"Kokeshi Cybrothel" was created in 2020 by Berlin-based writer Alexis Smiley Smith, Austrian filmmaker Phillip Fussenager, and Sujmo, an artist and creative director from Cologne, Germany, with an aim to "connect all consensual things in sex and technology."

"Combining a high-tech sex doll with a VR experience has never been done before," the rep said.

Smiley Smith added, “It’s super-textured with sci-fi and a kind of futuristic landscape. You're actually having this kind of user experience where you're in the VR world interacting with Angie."

Director Lucas Elliot explained how they merged the experiences of humanoid and human interaction by utilizing a mix of practical effects and post-production techniques.

"We are coordinating shooting the same shot with two cameras and then mixing them through a physical projector that we're putting some graphics on top of the actress,” Elliot said. “We are using stereoscopic cameras, so we can see how the physicality of the graphics affects the environment.”

Embracing the Christmas spirit, BaDoinkVR is releasing the scene for free in conjunction with their Christmas promotion.

“I wouldn’t go as far as calling us the 'Santa Claus of VR,' but every holiday season, we do our best to spread cheer to those with and without VR subscriptions. This was an ambitious project, and we’re very proud to share it with the world."

The scene is available for free in VR until Sunday, Jan. 09, 2022. Additional details about the partnership with Kokeshi can be found here.

BTS details about this project’s production can be found on YouTube.
