Ela Darling Joins Unlockd as Global Brand Ambassador

LONDON — Performer, educator and activist Ela Darling has joined adult-friendly platform Unlockd as the company's first global brand ambassador.

In her new role, noted a rep, Darling will work to create "improved content opportunities and marketing strategies that seek to elevate Unlockd's profile and credibility within the adult industry, as well as attract and convert larger numbers of high-value creators to actively use and promote the social platform."

Unlockd offers 85% payouts and already counts "hundreds of thousands" of creators and fans, the rep said.

"Adult creators are the core part of our business. As an adult film performer and advocate myself, I think it's important to prioritize creators above maximizing profits,” said Darling. “Unlockd is a platform that goes all-in on championing the artists in our industry, and their generous payouts and referral structure demonstrate this ethos. Performers are paramount; after all, there would be no industry without us."

"I've chosen to shift my online presence to Unlockd because I am tired of other platforms fleecing us while threatening to de-platform us," she continued. "I want my content to be on a site that values me for the things I create, not a platform that barely tolerates my presence because of the industry I work in."

Darling noted Unlockd offers high payouts because "they want to make sex workers feel safe and respected."

"They brought me on board as a founding member, and from our first discussion made it clear that they wanted to speak to me as Ela Darling the entrepreneur, not just Ela the performer. They wanted me to join their team because they want to have representation from our industry on their board," she said.

“The more I spoke to them, the clearer it was to me that these were the kind of people I want to invest my time and brand into, as someone who is an adult creator, founder and advocate," Darling added. "They listen to me as a performer and sex worker, which is an experience I believe many brands fail to do."

The platform rep said the Unlockd team is inspired by Darling's "drive, intelligence and dedication to innovation within our industry, and we celebrate our shared passion and purpose as representatives of this thrilling new online adventure."
