LOS ANGELES — Reigning XBIZ "Cam Model of the Year" GoAskAlex is featured in Hustler’s October issue for an article about representation of disabled bodies in pornography.
The article by John Blaylock, titled “Disability Visibility,” covers GoAskAlex’s life dealing with ulcerative colitis and her subsequent abdominal colectomy two years ago, as well as how this operation created the foundation for her career transformation.
Alex has been described as “a vital voice for a community that struggles for visibility within adult entertainment,” according to a rep, by sharing the obstacles she experiences as well as pushing for disabled or differently-abled bodies to enjoy positive visibility.
“Disabled people have sex, and disabled people watch porn. There is no reason why they shouldn’t also be represented in adult media,” Alex said. “When I was in the hospital, no one spoke to me about intimacy after my surgery. I want people to know that they can still have a sex life and be disabled.”
