LOS ANGELES — Sex educator and Youtuber Kate Kozlova has memorialized Larry Flynt in a new video tribute titled “Larry Flynt: An American Rebel.”
Kozlova started her YouTube channel “InBedWithKate,” which is dedicated to sex education, last year during the first lockdown.
“For me Larry Flynt is the greatest fighter for free speech and freedom of sexual expression,” Kozlova said. “I admire that Flynt not only defended his right to publish amid prosecution and threats against his life, but was also was active in politics even after he was paralyzed."
"In 2014, I already worked in the industry in my home country, Russia, but I had no idea how much it cost to live in a world that tolerated our business until I saw the movie ‘People vs. Larry Flynt.’ It made me cry first, but it has inspired me for the rest of my life and it was one of the reasons why I decided to move from Russia to the U.S.," she continued.
"After reading his books, I was impressed by the strength of this man and his role in shifting public opinion towards our industry. I am grateful for the inspiration he gave me and his death was a big shock and loss for the world and me personally," Kozlova said. "I hope young people like me, after watching this video, will appreciate the freedom we have and never forget the cost of that fight. And for industry members, it’s just a great video to remember one more time what kind of person he was and how big was the contribution he made to our industry.”
The video features interviews with Flynt, clips from the movie “People vs. Larry Flynt,” excerpts from Flynt’s books and more.
The 45-minute video was shot on several locations, including the Hustler Club Vegas, Hustler Casino, a Hustler Hollywood store and the LFP building.
