Pineapple Support Releases End-of-Year Report

LOS ANGELES — Pineapple Support has released its end-of-year review for 2020 recounting the successes and challenges of the organization during a year that was defined by the pandemic.

“2020 was a challenging and crucial year for the organization, as well as a significant year for the adult industry,” Founder Leya Tanit said. "Our organization fought to fulfill the skyrocketing demand for mental health services as a result of the pandemic. Many emotional stressors were aggravated during lockdowns and systematic discrimination in the healthcare industry proved a hurdle for many.”

“Thankfully, Pineapple Support could help,” Tanit added.

Faced with major challenges in 2020, a rep explained, Pineapple Support — with the help of its sponsors — was able to meet the crisis head on.

By the end of the year, the organization had:

  • Connected over 1,300 performers, producers and other members of the adult community with emotional support and therapy
  • Provided over 6,000 one-on-one therapy sessions to adult performers and producers
  • Recruited more than 145 new therapists worldwide
  • Added 29 new sponsors
  • Hosted over 30 webinars and 100 support group meetings
  • Spoken at or attended eight major industry events
  • Provided active listening to 400 individuals in need of immediate emotional support

The end-of-year review outlines how the organization reacted to the effects that COVID had on the adult industry from when lockdowns began.

“Despite many restrictions, Pineapple Support held a solid presence across multiple virtual industry shows and conferences throughout the year, as well as hosting its own schedule of events, including the annual Pineapple Summit which was held in December,” the rep added.

Tanit said 2020 “became a defining year for the organization as we expanded our reach alongside partners such as the WebCam Lab in Latin America. However, none of what we have achieved would have been possible without the incredible generosity and support of our incredible sponsors.”

The qualified 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization in the United States and registered charity in the U.K. welcomed 29 new sponsors last year, including Pornhub, Brazzers, Clips4Sale, CAM4, Kink.com, xHamster, Chaturbate, Adultwork, Streamate, SextPanther, Free Speech Coalition, PervOut Productions and NakedSword.

Individuals in the industry who want to help support and steer the work of the organization can join Pineapples United and become an individual sponsor here.
