SINematica Begins Construction on New Production Facility in Southwest France

LOS ANGELES — SINematica has begun construction on "The Lab," a 2,200-square-foot house that will serve as hub for filming as well as post-production work. The 11,000-square-foot property, which a rep noted includes a pool, is "just a stone's throw from the dramatic Atlantic Ocean in southwest France, an hour from Spain and among world’s best surf spots."

The Lab's design includes "rooms for performers to stay when shooting, functional rooms for creating ever-changing content and dedicated makeup and post-production areas. This location will house all the equipment needed to create a range of new titles for the studio," the rep said. "Anything will be possible to achieve by the creative minds of the SINematica team."

"Bordered with pine forest and close access to the beach, this house is being built with a southern orientation and large bay windows in order to [achieve] a sun-drenched look all day long," explained the rep. "Palm and olive trees will be part of the gardens; a poolhouse will include an outdoor bed area."

A rep for the SINematica production team was excited by the news, noting "the proximity of endless beaches and pine forest everywhere, [so] a lot of outdoor shooting will take place for either intros, comedy or full hardcore scenes."

"We couldn’t have been more stoked about it," the said. "Since everyone is either surfing or skateboarding — this region is called the 'European California' — excitement got hold of everybody. We can’t wait to shoot in it and then retreat at the ocean when construction is done by the summer."

The company, revealed the rep, has also purchased an additional 33,000 square feet of land in the middle of the forest five miles from the original house with plans to develop another location for shooting, management and post-production. Construction is due to begin by late summer.
