Maia Toys Pairs With Tokeativity on Charitable Initiatives

LOS ANGELES — Maia Toys has paired with Tokeativity, a feminist, cannabis activist community, on several forthcoming projects to benefit BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities.

Maia will donate a portion of its sales from the Jessi 420 bullet to Tokeativity to sponsor membership costs for BIPOC members and to support nonprofit partner the Last Prisoners Project.

The Jessi 420 is described by company rep as a 10-function, ultra-powerful, USB-rechargeable bullet vibrator. Inside each box, consumers will find a pamphlet with information on Tokeativity, the Last Prisoners Project and a Tokeativity logo sticker.

"Tokeativity will also include a special logo sticker for the exterior packaging, prompting consumers to take a closer look," said the rep.

Besides the Last Prisoner Project, Tokeativity has supported Planned Parenthood, the NAACP, the ACLU, Supernova Women and National Bail Out with regular donations.

The organization was founded by Lisa Snyder and Samantha Montanaro in 2016 in Portland, Oregon.

"Tokeativity is the global feminist community for active cannabis culture," the rep explained. "This online community of cannabis consumers and businesses believes in cannabis normalization, equity and empowerment. They work as a collective to modernize consumption culture through interactive experiences. Their online events and marketing campaigns work to create radical, positive change around the world."

Snyder expressed gratitude for the collaboration.

"We are excited to support the normalization of cannabis, celebrate sexuality with our Maia partnership, and to feature nonprofits we are passionate about supporting through this effort," she said.

Maia has pledged to make an additional donation to Last Prisoners Project.

“Tokeativity is a good match for Maia Toys because they are advocates for the same ethics we hold at Maia, like human rights as well as providing space for people to be comfortable without judgements," Maia Toys Sales and Marketing Executive Zach Smith said. "Their mixture of philanthropic work as well as member interactions is a perfect fit. We plan to work more with Tokeativity in the future, doing things such as holding panels to open up conversations about cannabis and sex."

"The opportunity that Tokeativity is giving us as an adult company to come in to their community and help educate as well as integrate sex into the cannabis community is absolutely terrific,” continued Smith. “We are so happy that we got this chance to help give back in the way that we know how, and we hope that our partnership will strengthen the ties between the two industries."
