U.K.'s Ricky Puts Sex Toy Twist on the Christmas Cracker

LONDON — British pleasure products company Ricky has announced a new novelty item for the 2020 holiday season: a Christmas cracker that contains a surprise sex toy.

“We can't promise snow this year, but we can promise a flurry of orgasms with our newest limited-edition offering,” exclaimed a rep.

Ricky’s Christmas cracker puts a sex toy twist on the beloved U.K. tradition of loudly popping a large, candy-wrapper-shaped container that usually reveals a small trinket and a paper crown.

“The Christmas cracker is a British tradition that's been kicking about for hundreds of years,” said the rep. “Brits have been tugging on them since 1847 when Tom Smith of London invented them as a way to increase sales of his bon-bon sweets.”

“The team at Ricky.com have worked tirelessly to incorporate sex into the age-old act of pulling a festive cracker,” the rep added.

Each of the 1,000 limited-edition crackers contain a surprise sex toy from Ricky's collection, with five different choices to collect.

“Ricky's crackers have been lovingly hand-tied and come presented in our signature blue card sleeve — no plastics here — with no mention of a 'sex toy' being inside,” the rep continued. “The reaction on their face will be a sight to behold.”

Ricky is encouraging customers to film the moment on Christmas Day and post the footage on social media with the hashtag #RickyCracker to receive a £10 gift card.

“After all, nothing quite says 'Merry Christmas, one and all' like a sudden 'bang' followed by a massive dildo flopping onto your dad's lap,” the rep concluded.

Tom Thurlow, founder of Ricky, hopes the novelty will brighten up the holidays.

"This year has been hard on us all and I hope our Christmas crackers will inject some fun and frolics in to this year's Christmas festivities, making it a real December to remember," he said.
