Dr. David Levy to Discuss Sex, Robots With 'Sex Tech Connect'

LOS ANGELES — Dr. David Levy, author of "Love and Sex With Robots," and co-chairman of the International Congress of Love and Sex With Robots (LSR), will appear as a special guest of the Sex Tech Connect teleconferencing event series this Sunday, which was organized by the recently formed networking group for the sextech and adult retail industries, and professionals involved with sexuality research, journalism and the arts.

The group meets Sundays at 10 a.m. (PDT) for "Virtual Brunch, Happy Hour or Late Night Drink." Recent guests have included Skirt Club founder and CEO Genevieve LeJeune, venture capitalist McKeever "Mac" Conwell II, Dr. Ava Cadell and Ricci Joy Levy of the Woodhull Freedom Foundation, among others.

"Levy was ahead of his time, publishing his book about artificial intelligence and sex robots back in 2007, shortly after he was awarded a PhD by the University of Maastricht for his thesis entitled 'Intimate Relationships with Artificial Partners,'" a rep explained.

During Sunday's meetup, attendees will have the opportunity to speak directly to Levy, and to one another, said the rep, to "network, learn and advocate for the industry."

Levy looks forward to Sunday's discussion. “The future of sex robots is paved with erotic pleasure, emotional excitement and untold mystery,” he said. "I am really happy to bring my experience to Sex Tech Connect to discuss where the field is, and where it’s going. This is also a wonderful opportunity to invite new faces to our upcoming virtual LSR conference."

Sex Tech Connect co-founder and adult industry attorney, Maxine Lynn, noted Sunday's event will be of interest to those who work in any sector of adult.

“This will be a compelling discussion about what lies ahead technologically, as well as both the benefits to be had and the issues that we as a community will face in its adoption,” she said. “I think it’s going to be a thought-provoking and valuable conversation for anyone in the industry, regardless of their vertical.”
