Pineapple Support to Host Trauma-Specific Support Group for Performers

LOS ANGELES — Pineapple Support will host a trauma-specific support group for adult performers, led by therapist Angie Gunn, beginning tomorrow. The group will be limited to nine participants.

The sessions will continue every Friday for six weeks, online, from 6 to 7 p.m. (PDT).

“In this collaborative group, we will explore the many layers of trauma and its impact on every facet of well-being,” explained Gunn. “We will provide the basics of trauma neurobiology and tools for understanding the nuances of the symptoms, while also creating strategies for healing and integration of all the parts of you."

Leya Tanit, Pineapple's founder, welcomed the opportunity to provide specific, targeted support.

“Trauma can be difficult to talk about if it’s not in the correct settings with the right professionals,” says Tanit. “Angie has been specifically trained in sexuality, trauma, attachment and family systems and I know this support group is going to be incredibly beneficial for all those that participate. Space is limited, so reserve your place soon.”

Pineapple Support was founded in 2018. The organization, a registered nonprofit in the United States and a registered charity in the United Kingdom, has connected over 1,000 adult performers to mental health services, including free and low-cost therapy, counseling and emotional support.
