Lovehoney Discusses Importance of Learning at Work

BATH, U.K. — Sexual wellness brand Lovehoney is recommending business-minded people set aside some time each week for learning at work to promote personal and company growth.

“It is a fact that the world is perpetually changing, with new discoveries happening each day which change the way people view the world,” the company said. “One of the most effective ways of dealing with change is through ongoing learning.”

Each week, Lovehoney dedicates company time to complete a "Learning Hour," when teams are encouraged to stop working and take time out for personal learning.

According to the company, that might mean reading an educational book or magazine, researching a topic online or watching a TED Talk or YouTube clip. The decision is left to the individual.

Additionally to independent learning, the company has been offering “takeover” sessions, where the teams are asked to focus on specific topics, such as Unconscious Bias, and utilize learning documents provided.

On Lovehoney’s website, sales executive Jade Bawa shares five reasons why setting aside time for learning at work is paramount for personal and company growth. She explains that benefits include more knowledgeable employees, improved innovation and reinforcing company culture.
