BARCELONA — Erika Lust has released her new documentary “Sex and Love in the Time of Quarantine” for free today, on XConfessions.
Based on a confession by Erika Lust herself, six performers share their confinement experience and offer insight into how they satisfy themselves during lockdown.
The film features individual performances by Casey Calvert and Kenneth Play, plus couples MySweetApple and Jet Setting Jasmine and King Noire.
“Each performer invites the viewer into their home to talk about how their lives have been impacted by the pandemic before playing an erotic game that leads to a special quarantine sexual adventure,” explained a rep.
In Florida, King Noire and Jet Setting Jasmine start with a kinky game of heads-and-tails, while in Barcelona MySweetApple play a sexy version of Twister. In New York, Kenneth Play chooses an XConfessions movie to turn himself on in his bedroom, and in Los Angeles Casey Calvert spins the bottle to choose her next sex toy to play with.
“Searching for new ways of interacting and experiencing pleasure while in lockdown, this is Erika's answer to quarantine,” the rep added. “It was a challenging project to execute under the global pandemic, but Erika hopes the movie will give the public more entertainment while simultaneously giving adult performers who have had all of their shootings postponed more work.”
The director shared her thoughts about the inspiration behind this short doc.
“My imagination runs wild traveling through all of the continents,” Lust explained. “How can life suddenly change so drastically for all of us? I can feel a collective desire for more interaction and I imagine an invisible piece of string connecting us all. During sleepless nights I run through different scenes in my head, tricking myself into a sex roulette until I enter my dreams where my pleasure is no longer restricted by social distancing.”
“I know that we can't live in our dreams, so when we're awake we need to use this opportunity to try things that we never dared try before. What are you doing after washing your hands? Are you touching, fucking, sucking, licking enough?” Lust added.
“I want to give this film to everyone locked in their homes around the world, to watch and to be inspired by how others are spending their quarantine.”
