PITTSBURGH — Adult Empire has announced the finalists for its 2019 Porn Star of the Year: Autumn Falls, Aubrey Kate, Maitland Ward and Angela White. The winner will be crowned next week.
It is the second year Adult Empire has crowned a winner; White earned the inaugural crown. The laurel is awarded to the performer "who most shaped the world of porn in a given year,” a company rep explained.
This year’s prize will also include a physical statuette.
“We regard the Porn Star of the Year winner as a reflection of the current state of adult entertainment at its best,” said Adult Empire’s Madison Greene. “It is intended as a parallel to Time Magazine’s Person of the Year prize. We were very pleased with the success of last year’s announcement, so this year we decided to create a pool of finalists to spotlight even more of the industry’s talent.”
The company will unveil the winner next week on its social media channels.
“These four stars appeared in some of the year’s best movies, all while pushing themselves and the industry forward in dynamic, interesting ways,” enthused Greene. “Autumn ranked as one of Adult Empire’s most popular newbies, while Maitland’s high-profile switch to hardcore porn scored headlines in mainstream outlets across the country.”
“Kate dazzled us with performances in massive hits like 'Drive' and 'Captain Marvel XXX.' Angela will aim for a repeat, thanks in large part to remarkable showcase features like 'Angela White: Dark Side.'”
Falls and Ward are 2020 XBIZ Awards nominees for Best New Starlet; Kate is among the XBIZ contenders for Trans Star of the Year, while White is an XBIZ Female Performer of the Year nominee.
