Manville Retro Series to Launch With 1980s, '90s Gay Footage

VAN NUYS, Calif. — Manville Retro, a new DVD series featuring all-male footage from the 1980s and ‘90s, is set for its official launch next month from Manville Entertainment.

Some of the footage has never been distributed on DVD, a rep notes. The series kicks off with “Retro Dudes, Dirty Deeds” on November 19. GayHotMovies.com will hold exclusive VOD rights for one month prior to each DVD release.

“The incredible success of our Manville Classics line proved there was a huge market for vintage gay content,” said Austin, executive producer for Manville Entertainment. “While Manville Classics focused on previously lost footage from the ‘60s, ‘70s and early ‘80s, Manville Retro will showcase XXX from the ‘80s and ‘90s, which I consider the heyday of the adult industry.”

“I am incredibly excited to reintroduce scenes from the most prolific era of XXX, and to showcase many of the superstars who made this historic time so memorable,” he added.

A GayHotMovies rep praised the new venture.

“Whether writing, directing and producing his own original content, as reflected in the Manville Entertainment parodies, or reviving vintage content in the Manville Classics and Manville Retro lines, Austin’s passion for porn is amazing,” said the rep. “We are eagerly looking forward to continuing to be the exclusive pre-release VOD outlet for Manville Entertainment.”

Pulse Distribution will manage wholesale/retail for the new series. “Austin first unearthed a treasure trove of long-lost footage, which had sat in the vaults for years, and put together a library of 25 titles, which have sold extremely well,” said Pulse VP of Sales Hyland C. “His love and appreciation of classic porn is wonderfully executed in each title he carefully assembles. There is no doubt the retro series will be equally successful.”
