Serene Siren Makes Directorial Debut with 'Fit Chick Clique' for Girlfriends Films

LOS ANGELES — Girlfriends Films has released the latest from G/G triple-threat Serene Siren.

Written, directed by and starring Siren herself, "Fit Chick Clique" made its online debut this week exclusively at GirlfriendsFilms.com. The two-hour feature will be available for pre-order August 30 and hits stores nationwide September 6.

The title notably marks Siren's directorial debut and features four vignette scenes centered on a "sweaty workout" theme.

Cinematographer and veteran Girlfriends director B. Skow commented, “I have been working with Serene since she started and asked her how she would feel about directing and it all kind of fell into place.”

Siren notes she had "tons of ideas" before she zeroed in on her theme. "I do a lot of wrestling and fighting. It took about a month to narrow it down to a wresting type of movie, and I wanted to bring that out with a Girlfriends-style approach," she said.

"Fit Chick Clique" stars Ariel X, Audrey Miles, Dava Foxx, Kit Mercer, London River and Verronica Kirei. "It was a fun challenge for me having the girls looking to me for instruction," Siren said. "Inside it was 112 degrees with no air conditioning, but they were cheering, excited. It was so cool to see!"

Skow believes Siren will soon return to the director's chair. "She has a lot of great ideas. I enjoyed the dynamic of Serene writing and directing, so she could develop that whole dynamic of working with the girls," he said. "And I could be 'invisible' and have time to focus on the camerawork, making sure the angles are there."

"Fit Chick Clique" made its online debut earlier this week in a four-part release schedule. The fourth and final scene is set to be released to coincide with the DVD pre-release on August 30.

Also on August 30, the Girlfriends Films members-only forum is hosting an AMA — "Ask Me Anything" — with Siren.
