CYBERSPACE — Cam star Ginger Banks, MILF headliner Richelle Ryan and trans star Jessy Dubai are featured in a new Men’s Health piece that seeks to educate fans on how to speak to performers online.
The story by Mark Hay, titled “Here’s How Porn Stars Want You to Talk to Them Online,” offers a lesson in online etiquette.
Most adult industry performers, Hay notes, earn money from various methods of chatting directly with fans, rather than through traditional studio shoots. Camming, custom clips, premium content membership clubs and many other side-hustles require performers to cultivate a fervent fan base through online interactions.
“As a sexual artist, them getting off for free is one thing I want to avoid,” says Banks, particularly when much of her content is already available.
Ryan notes that Twitter and Instagram are ideal for building an online brand, while Dubai reminds that performers are people first. “You don’t want to make a performer go from feeling loved to feeling scared for their life,” she says.
