Dale DaBone Seeks Help for Medical Expenses After 'Freak Accident'

LOS ANGELES — Friends of veteran industry performer Dale DaBone have announced a GoFundMe page to help with medical expenses after DaBone broke his neck in what they call “a freak accident.”

“His dog jumped in the pool at the same time as Dale did,” Wicked Pictures’ Brad Armstrong told XBIZ. “He knocked Dale’s feet out from under him, flipping him upside down. Dale landed head-first, hitting his head on the bottom of the pool, busting his head open and fracturing his neck in several places.”

“The doctors were stunned he got himself out of the pool,” added Armstrong. “They said injuries like this usually leave the person paralyzed or dead.”

DaBone has a lot of surgery expenses and recovery time ahead of him.

The 6-foot-tall, leading-man-handsome performer's domestic accident has derailed the life and career of a daredevil who has always been proud to perform stunt work, particularly on motorcycles, both in porn (Armstrong’s “Speed”) and mainstream (“Torque,” starring Ice Cube).

“Dale has done some amazing work in some amazing movies,” said Armstrong. “He’s won awards for his portrayals of some of porn’s best movie characters, like the original Adam West Batman and even the King himself — Elvis!”

“He’s another ‘life after porn’ struggle,” said Armstrong. “After graduating nursing school he landed a job at a hospital which he lost when they found out about his porn past. This story replayed itself at the next hospital he subsequently started working at.”

Like so many industry performers, and many other Americans, DaBone is without health insurance and now finds himself in need of support. “This is another example of why [adult industry groups] really need to look into at least basic healthcare,” said Armstrong.
