PHILADELPHIA — Performer Missy Martinez has recently announced her retirement from the adult industry.
Via a guest post for the HotMovies Spotlight section titled "Hanging Up My Heels," Martinez wrote, "it’s the end of an era for me and also for my fans. As of May 1st, I retired from shooting porn."
Originally only performing in G/G scenes, Martinez quickly expanded to shooting B/G content, eventually growing into her most well-known role as a popular MILF performer during her 10-year career. Martinez has been nominated for several awards, most notably for her showcase title, "Missy Martinez — Fucked Ra."
In her farewell address, Martinez recognized the industry for the numerous opportunities it afforded her as well as a few key "life lessons" learned over the course of her career.
"I wouldn’t trade the lessons, experience, and friendships I’ve made for anything in the world," she wrote. "I have zero regrets. Closing such a big chapter in my life is exciting, but it’s also equally scary."
Martinez also addressed the stigma performers frequently face joking that "sadly, not everyone appreciates a gaping anus," but ultimately remains "cautiously optimistic" about the road that lies ahead. "All I can do is bring my knowledge, expertise, willingness to learn, and bubbly personality to my next venture," she said.
Martinez has been a recurring HotMovies Spotlight contributor and has previously penned articles about sexual fantasies and a guide to online etiquette. Now in its 4th year, the Spotlight section features interviews, movie reviews, Best Of lists and the most up-to-date information on new titles and notable studios.
Regarding Martinez's retirement, Spotlight editor and author Bridget commented, "After following both Missy's career and hilarious Twitter account, it's been an honor to work with her and feature her original writing on the HotMovies Spotlight.
